PARTY FOR BRIDE-ELECT

On Friday afternoon Mrs A. S. Muir was hostess at a very enjoyable party at her home in honor of Miss Mavis Muir, whose marriage to Mr W. K. Andrews, of Apia, Samoa, takes place next month. The drawing-room was gay with bowls of red and pink roses in glorious tones, and the guests found amusement in solving a "vegetable" guessing competition, the prize being won by the guest of honor. A delicious afternoon tea was served in the dining-room, where the tablo looked very attractive with a centrebowl of g'aily-hued nasturtiums, and clusters of golden bunnemannia lent color to the mantelpiece. Mrs Muir received her guests attired in a smartly-fashioned French frock of almond green crepe georgette trimmed with bands of gold and amber embroidery and a flared skirt. Miss Mavis Muir wore a pretty frock of white voile embroidered with touches of blue and orange and designed with an uneven hemline, and trimmed with a fichu collar tying in a bow. A wide-brimmed hat of whito straw completed her toilette. Mrs P. Muir wore a modish ensemble of black crepe-de-chine, and a black hat. Mr s R- Muir was attired in a simplyfashioned frock of floral voile, and a biscuit-shaded straw hat. Mrs K. G. Runciman was frocked in black georgette trimmed with tucks and relieved with .a fichu and cuffs of betiige- accordion-pleated georgette. She wore a black hat to match with touches of beige. The guests included Mesdames 11, Chrisp, 11. V. Stovcll, W. Hegarty, 11. Harris, M. Pettit, D. Chrisp, Thomson-Bush, L. Balfour, W. Oakden, R. F. Gambrill, K. Palgravc, A, C. Steele; Misses T.
