DRAINAGE IN RANGIORA
SEWER SCHEME CONTRACT (Per Press Association.) RANGiOKA, this day. The Rangiora Borough Council has accepted the tender of Mr. Allan Moore, Christchurch, of £16,190 8s lid for the main sewers, and £2656 for treatment works for the Rangiora sewerage scheme. The estimates of the engineer, Mr, W. Stevens, who recently put in the Hamilton scheme were £18,409 14s and £3765 12s 6d respectively. An Auckland tender was discarded, as it was below the engineer's statement of the net cost. The engineer is putting the sowers through the backs of sections instead of in the stre*!s, This is the first instance of this being done m tho South Island.
