COMMISSIONER'S TOUR

WELLINGTON, last night
"Generally speaking I found things verv satisfactory," said the Commissioner of 'Police, Mr. \V. B. Mcliveney, today when asked to comment on his recent tour of police stations in the North Island. Mr. Mcliveney returned to Wellington on Friday evening after an absence of 15 days' During that time he visited Wanganui, Raetihi. Tokaamf, Taupo, Rotorua, Pntaruru. Cambridge, Hamilton. Auckland. Te Kuiti, Mokan, New Plymouth, and other Taranaki towns and Palmerston North.
Travelling by motor Mr. Mcliveney was able to make the trip with a minimum of delay. He inspected the stations and equipment, and when the men paraded before him he invited them to make suggestions and to bring to b's notice any complaints thev might have to make. "I am very proud t<> sav that during the whole lor;-." lie said, "I did not receive one single complaint." Mr. Mcliveney has ye! to visit stations in Napier and Gisborne districts and those in the South Island.—P.A,
