OLD BOYS The most important game of the day, •tlio meeting between the two leading teams in the final series of games in the second xquiid, produced low scoring, and neither team reached the century. Old Boys were leading by nine ■run's when time was called, and the completion of the match next Saturday will be watched with keen enthusiasm. Gisborne Club's two "crack" bowlers, C. V. O'Connor and Blathwayt, kept Old Boys' score down, and had little difficulty in despatching ithe batsmen, the former taking six wickets for 112, and the latter four for 42. Old Boys batted first, and the score stood at 82 when the last wicket fell, C. Dow (20) and Edwards (19) being the only men to reach double figures. CIVIL SERVICE The Turanganui batsmen knocked the bowling about a good deal in the match with Civil Service, and the score at the end of the innings stood at 180, Jennings with 62 was the top scorer, and after him came Olson (33), Wood' held 30), Ellis (16), Oakden (if,), and Parker (11). Griffiths took six wickets for 49 runs for Civil Service. When the last Civil Service batsman was dismissed their total .stood at 100, giving Turanganui a lead of! 80 on the first strike.
