Korua encountering rougli weather on her forthcoming trip to Auckland for overhaul and survey, Captain Carson told the harbor board to-day that if he were in charge of the dredge, and got into difficulties, he would not hesitate to [nit the Korua on the beach for safety. The dredge was a shallowdraft vessel, and would go right up on the beach beyond the lino of the breakers, and could not take any harm from »oing up on a sanuy oeacfi. In Bedstone's Hall this evening the general meeting of thfl Gisborno Orchestral Society will be held. All members are urgently requested to be present as the first practice for this season will be held after the meeting. New members will be welcomed and there are vacancies for all instrumentalists.
