P.B.R.C. DOUBLES WEBB BEATS GLOVER Completing the second round of the Poverty Bay Rowing Club’s doublesculling series Inst evening, Webb and Marin (Usee.) decfated W. Glover and E. O. Felt-oil (ilsec.) in a hard race. The boats went away together, and there was practically nothing between them for half the distance, but from half-way on lack of training told on the Glover-Pel ton pair, and their opponents went ahead gradually to secure a winning lead. The .race was decided by about a boat’s length. Two races have to be rowed before the series is complete: Webb and Martin are to meet McCarthy and Butler, to whom they concede 2socs. on the handicaps, and the winner of that race will row A. Roche and Harris, whose handicap is Isec., mid who will thus he conceding at least Bseo. to their opponents in the filial race of the series.
