Barra it and Worthington, who bad gone to Rotorua, stood out of tno English team, with Conii'ord. Gilligan won the toss, and decided to send his team in to hat. Rowley, and Dawson opened tho M.C.C. innings, bringing 20 up in 20 minutes, mainly by singles, with an occasional four. Forty was hoisted in half an hour. After 45 minutes tho score was 45 for one. Bowley, not out, 21. Daw son was caught by O’Brien when ,20.-45—1—20. Dufe'ppsinhji followed, and a- succession of singles saw 60 go up after an hour’s play. A few minutes later Bowley was splendidly caught by Heaney,, close in on the, leg side, after hatting soundly for 42. Lcgge was promptly dismissed, Bark snapping him up in the slips, off Kavanagh.
