NOVEMBER'S RAINFALL
SLIGHTLY .BELOW AVERAGE Although the rainfall for last month was slightly below the average of November, taken over a period of 50 years, it was the third. highest for 12 years. ..Rain fell on eight days during the month, the heaviest fall in 24 hours being 96 points on .November 8, the total fall being 2.96 in., .compared with an average of ;2.99m. It is interesting to observe,, however, that the Novem- • ber average nasi been maintained at a high level largely as a result of heavy falls during early years, the average for the past 25 years only being 2.72 in., or •27 points lower than the average for the half-century. V • The rainfall for* the first 11 months ot. the year now totals 41.81 in., with an annual average of 45.77 in., so that unless the present month is ab- ' normally wet the year's fall will be under the average, in December last year however, the rainfall totalled 6.44 in., bringing the year's total up to 50.66irt. „ „, ii c The figures for the first 11 months of each of the past three years are as
