NOVEMBER'S RAINFALL

SLIGHTLY .BELOW AVERAGE Although the rainfall for last month was slightly below the average of November, taken over a period of 50 years, it was the third. highest for 12 years. ..Rain fell on eight days during the month, the heaviest fall in 24 hours being 96 points on .November 8, the total fall being 2.96 in., .compared with an average of ;2.99m. It is interesting to observe,, however, that the Novem- • ber average nasi been maintained at a high level largely as a result of heavy falls during early years, the average for the past 25 years only being 2.72 in., or •27 points lower than the average for the half-century.
