The jury returned a verdict of accidental death at the inquest concerning the victims of the Lufthansa disaster on November 6. Lieutenant Kidson, the solo survivor, in giving evidence, declared that the pilot, who had the responsibility of deciding whether there should be a flight, was placed in a most awkward position. He was expected to start although he had misgivings about it, but that ho had better have a shot at it. There ought to be an experienced official to look at the weather report and decide Whether flights should be cancelled or delayed. . The jury added a rider that the pilot ought to be relieved of the responsibility of starting on foggy mornings, and suggested that the Air Ministry should examine Lieutenant Kidson’s sugges tion.
