Air. 1). W. O’Neil, of the Stamp Duties Department in Gisborne, has received notice of transfer to Napier, and will probably leave within two or three weeks to take up his new duties. Mr. O'Neil will replace Air. li. 0. Thompson, of Napier, who has been transferred to Auckland.
A. meeting of the newly-formed Alakaraka-Matawliero Cricket Club was held at Makaraka, there being a large and enthusiastic attendance. Arrangements were made for a. match with Kopua at Matawlioro during the weekend. The following officials were elected for the ensuing year:—Patron, Mr. R. C. Fisken; president, Mr. A. H. Carr; selectors, Messrs. D. Carr, B. 'Scholluu, and A. Stenner; captain, Air. D. Carr; vicecaptain, Air. P. Scholium; coach, Mr. D. Carr. The team for the week-end match will be : Sharp, Carr, Grayson, Stenner, Chapman; Campbell, Airey, Anderson, Scholium, Coombe and Riddel.
