1 (Herald Correspondent.) Mr. and Mrs. J. F. Hewitt, who- have been staying at Moumoukai, are visiting friends m Wairoa, A most enjoyable evening was spent at “Maugatoto,” the home of Mr. and Mrs. F. L. Joblin, on Saturday evening. The evening was spent in singing and dancing. During an interval Mr. .T. Bowie, on behalf of those present, wished Aliss N. Austin many happy returns of her birthday on the* morrow. The evening was brought to a dose by singing “For She’s a Jolly Good Fellow.” Very stormy weather was experienced in Morere last week. Shearing was in full swing before the rain commenced, the settlers having a busy time with their sheep. Few losses have been reported so far.
