LEGISLATIVE COUNCIL
YESTERDAY’S BUSINESS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. In the Legislative Council .to-day, the Native Trustee Amendment Bill, Native Land Amendment and Native Land Claims Adjustment Bill, Reserves and Other Lands Disposal Bill, and Local Legislation Bill were reported from Select Committees without. amendment. The Native Trustee Amendment Bill and the Reserves and Other Lands Disposal Bill were put through their final stages and passed without amendment. The Native Land Amendment Bill was passed with one amendment —the excision of a clause authorising vested lands to be awarded to the Crown on consolidation proceedings. This clause was dropped by the Government until next session. Progress was reported on the Local Legislation Bill, two clauses being postponed for Inter consideration.
