GUYS AND FIREWORKS
TO-MORROW NIGHT Childers road reserve, will probably (contain a, huge assemblage to-morrow night on the occasion of the Guy I'Yiwkes competition ami parade, with the addition of a, large display of lire works. Good prizes are to bo awarded for the three best effigies of the gentleman whoso name is prominent each fifth of November. The display of fire works will lie on a large scale. Set Dices will include mottos in colored fire, huge rainbow wheels, revolving fountains, batteries of Roman candles, cascades of golden rain, flights of mammoth rockets, and the explosion of shells releasing showers of many colored stars. During the evening the Gisborne City Band will render popular selections. The ground:', will be specially illuminated \„ permit a_ good view of the various guys entered in the competition. Special parking arrnngeluieuts will be made for motor ears, lie attraction is under the auspices of the City Baud, to whose funds the proceeds will be devoted.
