FOOD-CANNING INDUSTRY
An interesting example which is said to be part of a world scheme to develop the food-canning industry if being carried out at Hull. The .steamer Ganges, of .10,000 tons, is being converted into a floating • canning factory. Bought by a British ■firm of caniiefs, the vessel is. to em-; bark upon an expedition .to the African const. It will carry a number of small boats with crab pots from which catches of lobsters, crabs, and crayfish will be handed over to the Ganges, in which they will be cooked and canned.
