The. Von. Archdeacon J. B. Brocklehurst, Th.L., has been appointed vicar of the Cathedral parish of St. John the Divine, Napier, in succession to the late Dean Mayne. Archdeacon Brocklehurst. ivho has been conducting the services in the Cathedral for several months, first came to the Dominion from Australia in 1907, and from 1507 to 1910 was vicar of Waitara. In .1910 lie was appointed to Hastings, a charge which be held for 10 years, and from 192tl to 1926 he was in charge of the Otane district. He was appointed archdeacon in 1925, on leaving Otane to take over the responsible position of secretary to the Waipu Diocese and private chaplain to the Bishon of Waiapu. He held the former position until 1928, when be was succeeded 'Bv Mr. R. E. H. Pilson, and since then has served the diocese in the capacity of organising secretary.
