'FLU CURE

NEW BRITISH DRUG PINE RESULTS LONDON', October 13. "The most valuable agent discovered for the treatment of influenza," is the British Medical Journal's description of a new drug, known as 5.17.P.36. It is claimed that the drug, which is injected into the patient, will revolutionise the treatment of influenza. An investigating doctor showed that the fever was reduced in a day and alialf, compared with three days by ordinary methods; that a headache lasted a day instead of two: and that the days in bed were reduced to three, compared with six formerly. The injection must be delivered in the first 48 hours of an acute illness—the earlier the better. Tt is claimed that an early dose wards off an attack while a dose'at a slightly later stage means a rapid recovery. #
