THE FASCIST ERA
EIGHTH ANNIVERSARY MUSSOLINI’S MESSAGE (Elec. Tol. Copyright—United Press ASsn.) HOME, October 26. Signor Mussolini, spectacular as ever, issued a message to tho “Black Shirts” of Italy in connection with the eighth Fascist new year, which begins on October 28. After referring to'the work done-dur-ing the seven years, the message proceeds: “The eighth year will be no, less in'll with the efforts of fruitful work.” The practice of dating the years from the commencement of tiie Fascist era lias been widespread in Italy, stone, tablets being inscribed “Anno VII” as well as many houses and monuments. These bid fair to become a first-class puzzle to excavators centuries hence.
