ARRIVALS .Saturday, October 12. Pakura, s.s. (11.35 p.m.), 700 tons, Coldieutt, from Greymouth, via VVaikokopu. DEPARTURES Saturday, October 12. Kahika, s.s. (5.15 p.m.), 1172 tons, Gardner, for Dunedin. The Waimea leaves Auckland to-mor-row evening with general cargo for Gisborne and Napier. She is due here on Thursday morning. The Kahika sailed lienee on Saturday evening for Dunedin, where she is to eommencis loading to-morrow for Napier and Gisborne. The Niagara leaves Sydney on Thursday for Auckland, Suva, and Honolulu, arriving at Vancouver on November 8. The Aorangi sails from Vancouver on Wednesday fod Honolulu, Suva, Auckland and Sydney. The Makura, from Sydney, Wellington, and Rarotonga, leaves Papeete today, and arrives at San Francisco on October 25. The Tahiti, from San Francisco, and Papeete, leaves Rarotonga to-morrow for Wellington and Sydney. The Awahou arrived at Auckland at 2.50 p.m. yesterday from Gisborne. She loads' there to-day and to-morrow, and sails again to-morrow evening for coast bays and Gisborne. The Pakura arrived here at 11.35 p.m. on Saturday from Greymouth, via Waikokopu. The vessel berthed, yesterday, and commenced discharging her cargo of timber this morning. On completion she loads sheep and sails to-morrow for Westport and Greymouth, loading timber Hi the latter port for Gisborne. The Parera leaves Wellington to-mor-row evening with general cargo for Napier and Gisborne. She arrives here on Friday. The Mako should sail from Lyttelton to-night for Waikokopu and Gisborne. The vessel is due here op Thursday. _ 'Die Pukeko leaves Auckland to-night for coast bays and Napier. The Gun bar arrived at Wellington at 1.45 a.m. to-day from Gisborne. She sails again to-night, and is duo here on Thursday. The motor ship Margaret W loads at Auckland to-day and to-morrow, and sails to morrow afternoon, arriving here on Wednesday night. The Tiroa leaves Auckland to-morrow afternoon with general cargo for Hicks llav, Tokomaru Bay, and Tolaga Bay. the auxiliary ketch Huanui arrived at Auckland from Gisborne at 6.30 a.m. today.

There has been little change in the pressure distribution since yesterday, the anti-cyclone having remained practically stationary over New Zealand and the Tasihan Sea. Winds variable with light to moderate southerly to easterly prevailing! Seas smooth to moderate generally. Easterly winds in. the northern portion, south-easterly to easterly in the southern portion, light to moderate penerally with smooth or moderate seas. Weather still mainly fair to fine, but some isolated light showers at times m the far north, and on the East Coast, more especially in the North Island. Gold night and warm day temperatures. (To-day's North Island Report.) Blue skies were reported this morning at Auckland and in' the Bay of Plenty, hut elsewhere ill the North Island conditions were overcast. A south-westerly gale was blowing at East Cape and fresh to strong southerly winds elsewhere. The barometer had shown little movement during the week-end. Temperatures at 9 o'clock were: Auckland 57 degrees, Taurariga 62, Opotiki 58, East Cape 56, .Gisborne 52, Napier 53, and Wellington 45. Bough seas were reported at Tauranga, East Cape, and Gisborne; moderate or smooth elsewhere. (Midday Forecast) The indications are for moderate to strong south-easterly winds, at times freshening. The weather will probably prove cold and showery, The barometer is unsteady, and shows little movement Seas rough ; tides good.
