THE PALACE The two outstanding features, ‘'Sir Lumberjack" and “Danger Street," which opened at the Palace last nighi, will be finally screened there to-night. “Sir Lumberjack,” a Paramount release starring Lefty Flynn, is as strong in drama, as it is redolent of the Tiig woods, with their piney tang, their romantic atmosphere, ancl their red-blooded denizens. The excitement and adventure of logging was never better depicted than in this picture. Lefty Flynn is seen in the habiliments of the lumberjack. Kathleen Myers has the leading role opposite the star, and is appealing as the backwoods girl whom he eventually saves from I lie machinations of the camp boss and the vamp bully. Toin Kennedy ami Raymond Turner are others who stand out in a strong supporting cast.. The second feature, “Danger Sheet.” is crowded with moments of tense dramatic action portrayed in tlie notorious East Side, underworld of New York, and proves that even in such an atmosphere, love will conquer. Warner Baxter, the star, renders a performance surpassing anything be has done in the past, while Martha Sleeper provides love interest. The east also includes Duke Martin, Frank.. Mills, Harry Tenhrook, Harry Allen Grant, Ole M. Ness, and “Spec” O’Donnell. A delightful comedy-drama “The Wife’s Relations,” and “Tall Timber,” an outdoor drama, will be the features screening on the double feature, pro-' gramme commencing at to-morrow’s matinee. Shirley Mason is the featured artist in “The Wife’s Relations,” which deals with Hie marital troubles arid entanglements of a young married couple. Tt is one long laugh from start to finish. “Tall Timber,” featuring Billie Sim, is one of those outdoor dramas that is entertainment all the.way. MAJESTIC THEATRE A story of the racing track “with a difference,” “Thoroughbreds,” , popularly known as “Silks ancl Saddles,” opened at the Majestic last evening. It has in the leading rote 'Marion Nixon, Set against a background of beautiful Virginia, tho story follows its hero, a jockey, into all sorts of unlikely places. Richard Walling plays tho part of the jockey,, who is in. the employ r of a “crooked" gang connected with the turf and who rides horses to win or lose according to how best it suits his employers’ pocket. With his career nearly ruined, his former, sweetheart decides to take a hand, andeventually succeeds iu winning him back. “Tarzan the Mighty” serial, chapter 7; two gazettes, and “Cross- 1 country Bunion Race,” comedy, are the supports. This programme will be finally shown to-night.
