INTOXICATED MOTORIST (Pnr Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. “It is unfortunate to have to suspend the license of a man who depends to some extent on driving a ear for his livelihood, but car drivers know what to expect if they are found in a state of intoxication while driving their vehicles, and they should take precautions not to have liquor when about to drive.” With these remarks Mr. E. Page, S.M., >to.day fined a motorist £2O and suspended his driver’s license for. six months for being drunk while in charge of a car. Mr. A. J. Mazengarb, for the accused, said lie had been out of work for .some time and had got a position as a salesman recently. To hold this position it, was necessary for the accused to drive a car.
