Sir Apirana Ngata has written to the Whakatano County Council stating that representations had been made to, him by Messrs. Macmillan and Williams, M’s.P., on the matter of outstanding native rates. He proposed to visit the Whakatano and Opotiki districts soon after the end. of the session to discuss the matter with ,tha native landowners and the local bodies concerned. A reply is to be sent stating that the council will be glad to meet Sir Apirang Ngata to discuss the matter. —Press.
