SCHOONER SHELLED
COASTGUARDS’ ACTION ALLEGED REFUSAL TO STOP (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) HALIFAX (Nova Scotia), Sept. 19. The Canadian schooner Shnwnes lias arrived from Bermuda after being shelled and hit three times by' a United States coastguard off New York. Tho Americans admit firing, but say that the vessel refused to halt when challenged.
