CHILD MARRIAGES
AN INDIAN MEASURE UPROARIOUS MEETING (Australian Press Assn. —United Service.) (Received September 20, 10 a.m.) DELHI, Sept. 19. Uproar characterised a meeting in the Town Hall here by orthodox opponents of the Snrdas Bill forbidding child marriages. Tho chairman was captured by supporters of the bill, and laths and legs of broken chairs functioned instead of tho speeches of the appointed speakers. Ultimately supporters of the bill proposed a lady to the chair and passed a resolution in favor of the bill by a large majority.
