TRADER’S COMPLAINT

LOUD ORATORY IN STREET (Special to the Herald.) AUCKLAND, this day. A complaint that "loud and excited oratory” Was interfering with his business was made by a gramophone dealer in a letter received at a, meeting of the Hamilton Borough Council. The writer asked that preachers and public speakers should l>e prevented from holding meetings in Ward street on Friday evenings. The Mayor, Mr. Fotv, said he considered that the demonstrations were conducted in a most doleful manner, but that it was unfair to discriminate between the various speakers. He ex pressed sympathy with the trader. .Consideration of the matter was deferred.
