Dr. Douglas Swift, of Christchurch, tlms been appointed assistant medical Jsupermtendent of the Grey Hospital, vice Dr. Wilkinson, resigned. The Rev. W. M. Holland, formerly minister of the Cambridge Terrace Congregational Church, has accepted an invitation to Trinity Congregational Church, Walthamstow, England. The New Zealand motor traders in conference in Valmerston North last night, presented Mr. 15. F. Spiers, of Murcliison, with a crystal set in recognition of the public service he had rendered during 1 lu> earthquake. Advice has been received from Napier that Mr. K. Sandeman, who has been an inmate, of a. hospital for some weeks following injuries received in a motor accident on the Napier-Wairoa road, lias sufficiently recovered to be able to leave the institution, and ho proceeds to Wairoa to recuperate. Recent guests at the Masonic Hotet, Napier, included: Air. and Airs., Aliss and Mr. Rupert Glendining (Wairoa), Aliss A. Rorteous, Captain and Airs. Mitchell, ATrs. Jonnin.s, Miss M.
