SPLITTING THE INDIVISIBLE
MINNEAPOLIS, lAS.A.,'Sept. 12. The splitting of the supposed indivisible element of hydrogen gas into two substances! was demonstrated before the American Chonjieal Society, whp&ei president, Dr. Hugh Taylor, of'Princeton University, declared that it was tjio greatest scientific discovery this year. Dr. Bothlweffer, the scientist responsible for the work, was a 17-years r ol(l infantryman in the ivonf-line trenches when the war ended. Dramatically he set his proof before the eyes of chemists in a spot of light on tlie wall of the lecture-room.
