SERVICE CAR OVERTURNS
11 PASSENGERS ON BOARD (For Press Association.) CHRISTCHURCH, (his day.A service car going from Christchurch to Blenheim this morning ran off the road in -Greta cutting, near Cheviot, and overturned twice down a 30ft. bank, Eleven passengers, including members of flic .Marlborough basketball -/cani, one of whom received a broken wrist, bad a remarkable escape. A. relief car lias been sent. The accident was caused by the driver, Nieholls, attempting Li avoid a (fray on a portion of the mud where relief gangs are improving the grade. He was forced on to tho side of the, road, which gave way. Tho car was badly damaged and had to be vaiseff in order to extricate the occupants. It was fortunate that the accident happened on marshy ground, as otherwise the consequences would have been much more serious. The driver received a slight, leg injury.
