UNREASONABLE BY-LAW

PROTEST FROM MOTORISTS (Special to the Herald.) AUCKLAND, this day. A decision to support the Wellington Automobile Club in its protest against the Wellington City by-law requiring motor vehicles to bear the name and address of owners, was reached at a meeting of the council of the Auckland Automobile Association last nigh“lt is unreasonable, and is merely a duplication of the registration system, said the chairman. “If the Minister of Transport does not see to this we might suggest that- a test case be- taken, on the ground that the by-law is unreasonable. Local body officials must know that motorists to-day are such a large body that they will quietly submit to* irritating legislation.”
