ARRIVALS Wednesday, Augusl 14. Ivahika, s.s. (5.1. l a.m.), 1 172 tons, Dalgleish, from Duucdin, via Napier. Mako, s.s. (S.Ui.l a.m.), 50.1 ions, \V. S. Clark, from LytetUou, via Wui kokopu. Tlio Wainica left Auckland at 5.. 7 n) p.m. yesterday with cargo for Gisborne and Napier. ' She is due here to-inor row muming to discharge and on com pletion in the afternoon will sail for Napier. The Ivahika, with southern cargo, aimed from Napier this morning. The vessel is expected to complete discharge and sail at 10 p.m. to-day for Napier. From Napier she- proceeds to Dunedin to load again for Napier and Gishorne, via the usual ports. The Pakara loads coal at Greymouth this week for Gishorne. The Maknra, from Vancouver, Honolulu and Suva, left Auckland yesterday and arrives at Sydney on Saturday. The Niagara, which replaces the Makura, leaves Sydney on August 2S for Auckland, Suva, Honolulu, and Van couver. The Aorangi, from Sydney, via ports, arrives at Vancouver on Friday. She leaves again on August 21 for Honolulu, Suva, Auckland and Sydney. The Maunganui, from Sydney, left Wellington yesterday for Rarotonga, Papeete, and San Francisco. The Tahiti.- from San Francisco, leaves Papeete on Saturday for Karo tonga, Wellington and Sydney. The Awahou left Auckland at 5 p.m. yesierday for coast bays and Gisborne. She is due here to morrow night. The Mako arrived here at 8.30 a.m. to-day from Lyltolton, via SVaikokupa She sails again this evening for Nv-.tcl ton to load general cargo for Waikokopu and Gisborne. The I'arera, whbh left Wellington !:>-'' night for Napier and Gisborne, is due here on Friday morning. The Guiibar should arrive, here en Monday with timber from Greymouth. On completion of discharge she return: to Greymouth. The motor ship Margaret W left Auckland yesterday afternoon, and is due here to-night." The cyclone on the New South Wales coast has moved southwards, and apparently lost its intensity. Winds south-west to southerly and light to moderate, becoming variable and later tending northerly. Seas generally smooth to moderate. Winds tending northerly in the eastern Tasniau and later freshening. Seas smooth to moderate. Weather generally line. Cold night, but mild day temperatures. (To-day's North Island Report.) Blue skies were reported this morning at Auckland and in the Bay of Plenty but conditions elsewhere in the North Island were overcast. Strong southerly winds were blowing at East Cape, and light to fresh south-westerlies elsewhere. The barometer had continued the rising movement. Temperatures at 9 o'clock were: Auckland 55 degrees, Tauranga 48, Opotiki, Gis borne, and Napier 49, East Oape 51, Waiiganui 50, and Wellington 47. Hough sea s were reported at Castlepoint; moderate or smooth elsewhere. (Midday forecast) The indications are for moderate southerly winds, and veering by west, to north. There is a prospect of fine weather, with days bright and nights cold. Barometer little movement. Seas moderate. Tides poor.
