In his' discussion of vitamines, Pro fessor Mellanby described important experiments, which would be shortly completed, that might prove vitamin A to be a valuable antiseptic. "Vitamin A possesses," he submitted, "not only defensive action, but offensive action, having the quality of attacking and defeating agents which otherwise would attack the nervous system and eventually destroy it." Professor Mellanby also described re markable results ot bis wife's expert ments with teeth, showing that by varying the quantity of vitamin D in diet perfection and imperfection of tee.h could also be varied.
