HICKS BAY HARBOR BOARD
(Herald Correspondent.) At the last meeting of the Hicks Bay Harbor Board two tenders were received for thepurehase of the Tp Araroa jetty, Mr. F. L.Spence £l-75, and Mr. G. A. Thompson £l5O. Neither tender was accepted. It was decided to sell to the County Council for the purpose of bridges, etc., the whole of the material contained in the To Araroa jetty at a price of £1 per 100 s. ft. Provision is to be made for a benzine storage shed at the port, and Messrs. Ballantyno Bros, are to be asked to submit a price for the building of a 12ft x 12ft shed. Mr. Williamson advised of the need of an office to the harbor shed and of bis having authorised the secretary to arrange for the shed contractors to provide the requirement at a cost of £l6. — Mr. Williamson's action was confirmed. Mr. Williamson advised of the need of a crush pen to the proposed sheep holding yards by the wharf. Crs. Stainton and Maddox were deputed to locate the best position for the pen. Accounts amounting to £2177 12s 9d were passed for payment.
