GISBORNE V. P.B. CLUB BOTH TEAMS WIN 16 GAMES Teams representing the Gisborne r.ndi Poverty Bay social clubs met on the Awapuni links during the week-end, when the annual contest for (he Ada r Cup took place. This trophy was held by the Gisborne club, and after a series of keen and interesting games the contest resulted in a tie, both teams winning 15 games. The conditions were to some extent responsible for the low scoring, the greatest margin in any one game being three up and two to play. Most of the matches were taken to the last green, where the final decision was obtained. Playing in the singles, Poverty Bay registered Id wins to Gisborne’s 10, one -match being halved. The Gisbornc players defeated their opponents by live games to-three in the l'ourball matches, the remaining two games being halved. One game has yet to lie played, however, and the' result of this will decide the future holders.of the Adair Cup. Windeyer, one of the donors of the trophy, was present.
