OBITUARY
MR. FHILLIP R. NICHOLAS \,i old West Coast resident, Mr. Phillip Ryan Nicholas, died at the residence of his son, Mr. W. Nicholas, 111 Crawford road, Kaiti. on Saturday, at. the ago of 70 years. Deceased was barn in Countv Tipperary, Ireland, and came to New Zealand at the age of 15 years. For some years lie was gold-mining in Greenstone, on the. West Coast, and afterwards took up farming at Taramauka. Mr. Nicholas sold his farm at the conclusion of the Great War, ami came to Gisborne. Ho purchased property in dcLnutour road, where lie had resided ever since. Mrs. Nicholas died in Gisborne about four years ago. Deceased leaves four sons, Messrs. <L Nicholas, of Lower Unit. T. Nicholas, of Okoroire, W. Nicholas, ot Pn.rau street, and if. Nicholas, of deLautoitr road, to whom sincere sympathy will he extended. The funeral left Mr. 11. Nicholas residence this afternoon for laruheru eemeterv.
