Wireless advice received by the Northern Shipping Co. on Saturday, states that the auxiliary schooner Paroto, which was stranded at Crater Bay, White Island, during a severe south-east storm on Wednesday ni'dit. is in a safe position if a storm does not develop again from the south-east. The vessel is leaking owing to damage to the bottom of the hull, hut- temporary repairs are being effected. It is honed to refloat- the vessel on Monrlav or Tuesday. The steamer Apanui, which took a salvage party to the island, will remain to assist in the salvage work.

The wind during the week-end, has been very strong from the south-west, and may retard the refloating cf the vessel.
