The Waimea* left Auckland at 5.55 p.m. yesterday with cargo for Gisborne and Napier. -She is due here to-morrow morning, and sails in the afternoon for N apier. 'the Kaliika- left Dunedin last night for Onuniru, Timaru, and Lyttelton to complete loading for Napier and His borne. She is due here about August T 3 or 14.

The I’akura cmnpleted discharging coal here yesterday, and sailed at 5 p.m. for Lyttelton. 'The New Zealand Shipping Co.'s liner Ruahjtie left Auckland at 3.35 p.m. yesterday, and arrived here at 12.40 p.m. to-day to load frozen meat and genera! cargo for London. Shis is expected to sail for Napier at 5 p.m. to-morrow. The Makura, from Vancouver and Honolulu, leaves Suva on Friday, and arrives at Auckland on Monday. She sails the next day for Sydney, where she is due on August 17.

The Aorangi, from Sydney, Auckland, and Suva, leaves Honolulu cm Friday, and arrives at Vancouver on August lb. The Tahiti was to leave San Francisco to-day for Papeete, Rarotonga, and Web lingtori. She arrives at Wellington On August 26 and sails the next day for Sydney, .where she is due on August 31. '(’he Mqungamti leaves Sydney tomorrow, find clears Wellington on Monday for Rarotonga, Papeete, and San Francisco, She arrives at the lastinentioned port on August 30. The 0. arid. B. Lino motor-ship Port Gisborne is due here on August 19 to load frozen, produce for New York, Boston,. arid London. The Awahou left Auckland last evening for Tokomaru Bay and Gisborne. She arrives, hero ftp-morrow night. The Gunbar sailed hence at 5.10 a.in. to-day for Greymouth, where she is to load timber for Gispome.

The Pukeko left Napier last night for (Vaikokopu arid Auckland. The Mako loads general cargo at Lyttelton this week for Waikokopu and Gisborne".

The Parera left Wellington iast evening for Napier and Gisborne. The steamer arrives here on Friday morning. The motor-ship Margaret W, which is in dock at Auckland undergoing cleaning and painting, should sail to-night for Gisborne.

The Trim left Auckland at 4.15 p.m. yesterday, and is due here- to-morrow morning. She sails again to-morrow evening for Coast bays arid Auckland. THE WEATHER

(Last Night’s Forecast.) A depression crossed the Dominion last, night, and another and more intense one is now approaching rapidly from the west. An intense anti-cyclone is centred near the Australian Bight. Winds, north-westerly, moderate to strong generally, and in places of gale force. A change to south-westerlies is probable after 24 (.o 36 hours. Seas moderate in most coastal waters on the east coast, hut, otherwise rough generally. Moderate to strong north-westerly winds in the eastern Tasman, reaching gale force at times in the southern portion, with rather rough to rough sens. A change to south-westerly winds advancing later from the westward. Weather changeable, squally, and unsettled, with rain in most districts, some heavy falls in the western districts, and snow on the liiffhlands. A cold change after 24 to 36 hours. (To-day’s North Island Report.) Overcast conditions were general in the North Island this morning, with rain in the Bay of Plenty. A. strong porth-westerly wind was blowing at Last Cape, and light variable breezes elsewhere, The 'barometer had continued the falling movement. Temperatures at 9 o’dlpck were: Auckland 51 degrees, Tauranga 52, Opotiki 55, East, Gape 58. Gisliovne 57, Napier and Wanganui uO. and Wellington 48. Rough seas were reported at East Cape and Opotiki; moderate or smooth elsewhere. (Midday Forecast)
