SINGER’S DEATH

COLLAPSE AFTER ENCORE (Per Press Association.) AUCKLAND, last night, Robert H. 4 Gough, 50, a married man, collapsed and died after singing an encore item at a concert given to-night by St. Mark’s Church choir to the Mission to Seamen. Mr. Gough took part in a choir itffin early in the evening and, later, sang a solo. The audience demanded an encore and Mr. Gough responded, hut, at -the conclusion,' after leaving tho platform, lie staggered and collapsed, dying almost immediately. Members of the. audience rushed to his assistance and the St. John Ambulance was summoned, but with the arrival of hospital doctors only the pronouncement that life was extinct could he made. It is understood that Mr. Gough had been receiving medical attention for several months past.
