CENTRAL AUSTR. RAILWAY MELBOURNE, July 12. The railway from Oodnadatta to Alice Springs will be opened on August 4, when the first passenger train will leave Adelaide for Stuart, the railway station at Alice Springs. The train will reach its destination on August 6, and commence the return journey to Adelaide on August 7. The Commonwealth Railways Commissioner, Mr. G. A. Gahan, said to-day that for the time being there would be only a fortnightly passenger train servbe to Stuart, but a regular goods train would run on alternate weeks, and additional cattle trains if reouired. Stuart was the name by which Alice Springs would be known in future.
