STRIKE WAR
STREET A BATTLEFIELD NEW ORLEANS, July 8. Canal-street was turned into a battleground to-day, thousands participating in riots between striking tramcar men and rum unionists. The days casualties showed two dead unionists and a dozen on both sides injured. The mobs were frequently rushed by the police, who finally restored order late to-night.
