WOMAN'S LAPSE
FISTED FOR SHOPLIFTING (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this day. A married woman, Beatrice Higgins, 37, was lined £ls to-day, in default two months' gaol, for shoplifting, having taken articles, mainly women's apparel, from C. Smith's, Ltd., to the value of £lO 17s 6d. She was described as living happily with her husband and two children. She had given trouble to her family owing to drink, but had not previously shown dishonesty.
