MILD INFLUENZA

PREVALENT IN AUCKLAND (Special to the Herald.) AUCKLAND, this day. Influenza of a mild form is prevalent in Auckland and throughout the province. The staffs of many city offices have been depleted this week, and chemists, especially those in suburban districts; state that hundreds of people are suffering from influenza in one form or another.

Dr. Hughes, medical officer of health, stated to-day that although of a mild type, the influenza prevalent could, given the necessary conditions of wet and cold, easily develop into a more serious form. Influenza was general iii the community, and most of the schools were affected.
