NEW RECORDS CLAIMED MISS E. MARTYN’S 100 YARDS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, last night. The Council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association to-night recognised as a New Zealand record Miss E. Martyn’s (Canterbury) time of 11 1-5 sec. for the 100 yards. L. J. Pearce’s time for the three mile cycle. 6min. 49sec., was also recognised. A. Lay’s application for a javelin record of 206 ft. 6in. was deferred pending the arrival of the necessary certificates. T. Oakley’s application in connection with the mile cycle was refused on the ground of lateness. Tt was decided to forward Miss Martyn’s record on for recognition as a world’s record.
