TRANSFERS AND PROMOTIONS (Per Press Association.) WELLINGTON, this dqy. The following transfers and promotions in the Police Force were announced today by tlie commissioner:— Sub-Inspector J. Fitzpatrick, of Christchurch, formerly of Gisborne, promoted to inspector, and takes charge of Greymouth. Senior-Sergeant P. J. O’Hara, Christchurch, promoted to sub-inspector, and remains at Christchurch. Senior-Sergeant T. Shanahan, Oaniaru, replaces Senior-Sergeant O’Hara. Senior-Sergeant I). Scott, Wellington, goes to Oamaru. Senior Detective R. Ward, Wellington, transfers to the uniform branch, Wellington. Senior-Sergeant Charles W. Lopdell, of Wanganui, is transferred from the uniform branch to be chief detective* at Wellington. Senior-Sergeant D. A. Mac Lean, Gisborne, is transferred to Wanganui. Sergeant H. C. 1). Wade, Wniroa, is appointed senior-sergeant at Gisborne. Sergeant E. Quaile, Napier, takes charge of Wniroa. Sergeant J. Hodghson, Wellington, transfers to Napier. Detective T. Fitzgibbon, Napier, is promoted detective-sergeant, and remains at Napier. Constable J. Carmody, of Thermion station, Wellington, is promoted to sergeant, and remains at Wellington. Constable D. Crowe, Piet-on, is transferred to Thorndon. Constable T. N. Condon, of Brooklyn, takes charge at Picton. Constable E. W. Strafon, Upper Hutt, takes charge at Brooklyn. Detective-Sergeant J. Thompson, Wellington, is transferred to Hamilton. Detective F. Sinclair, Auckland, is transferred to Nelson. Constable T. G. Hall. Nelson, goes to the detective office, Wellington. Acting-Detective Watorscui and Constable Fell, Auckland, are detailed for duty with the Samoan Police Force.
