DEPARTURES Wednesday, April 10. Kaiiika, s.s. (4.25 p.m.), 1172 tons, Dalgleish. for Dunedin. Kaponga, s.s. (8.15 p.m.), 2345 tons, Flynn, for Napier. Thursday, April 11. Dunbar, s.s. (8.30 a.in.), 488 tons, Boulton, for Auckland. After discharging 900 tons of coal from Westport and Creymouth, the collier Kaponga sailed last evening for Napier. The vessel arrived here on Sunday morning, March 31, hut owing to a southerly gale was compelled to seek shelter at Table Cape and Voting Nick's Head throughout the following week. However, she arrived back in the roadstead on Sunday last, and commenced the discharge of her cargo on Monday. Owing to the state of the weather and conditions in the bay the Kaponga’s visit hero occupied 10 days. 'The Awahou arrived at Auckland from Gisborne at 9.30 p.m. yesterday. She sails to-day with general cargo for Coast bays and Gisborne. The Mako, from ‘Gisborne, arrived at Creymouth this.morning to load timber for Waikokopu. The Putiki arrives from Wellington, via Napier, tomorrow morning. The steamer returns to Wellington the same evening. The Parera, which has been chartered by the Anchor Co., is engaged in the coal and timber trade between Westport. Gvoymouth, Nelson, Wellington, and New Plymouth. The Gunbar left the wharf at 6.30 p.m. yesterday, but owing to unfavorable weather remained in the roadstead until 8.30 a.in. to-day, when she sailed for Auckland. She is due at the northern port to-morrow to load general cargo for Coast bays, Gisborne, and Napier. The Tiroa leaves Auckland to-day for Hicks Bay and Gisborne. The vessel is due hero on Saturday. The auxiliary ketch Huiumi left Wellington at- 2.30 p.m. yesterday, and is due here to-morrow with a large shipment of benzine. The auxiliary schooner Will Watch is on route from Auckland to Gisborne with general cargo. Sho is expected to arrive boro to-morrow. TELEGRAPHIC SHIPPING London, April 10: Arrived at Colon, Tamaroa. WEATHER REPORT Overcast and stormy conditions were reported throughout the North Island this .morning, rain falling everywhere north of Napier. Strong easterly winds were general. The barometer had fallen a little since yesterday. Temperatures at 9 o’clock were: Auckland and Gisborne 64 degrees, Tanranga and Opol-iki 67, East Cape and Napier 66, Wanganui 63, and Wellington 65. .Rough Etas were reported at Castlepoint, Napier, and in the Bay of Plenty; moderate or smooth elsewhere. WEATHER FORECAST The indications are for northerly winds, moderate to gale. Expect dull weather with much mist and fog in parts. Heavy rain is-to be expected, with mild temperatures. Barometer little movement. Seas heavy; tides good.
