SUNDAY SHEEP TRAINS
SHORTAGE OF TRUCKS Sunday sheep trains arc somewhat of a liov-elty in South Otago, and consequently considerable local interest was aroused last Sunday by a train from Tammii to the siding at Fiocgand conveying 30,00 fat larn'bs to the South Otago Freezing Co.’s works. It is understood (writes a Dunedin correspondent) that four more or these trains are scheduled* to run on four succeeding Sundays from the Tapanuiileriot district, which under the stimulus provided by the recent crisis j u the affairs of the freezing company bids fair to’become one of the largest sources of supply for the works. The Railways Department- is undoubtedly short of trucks, and the.-demand. has j loon so great of late that Sunday trains have become a necessity.
