BURTON CUP TOURNEY WEATHER HAMPERS PLAY Vesterdiiy’s weather hampered play in the Burton Cup tournament, conducted by ihe Gisborne Bowling Centre on the Kahutia and'Gisborne greens. .Nevertheless three games in each section Avere got off during the afternoon, when the , rain lifted for long enough to permit of the surface-water soaking away. The greens were heavy, of course, and numbers of the bowlers found their enthusiasm someAvhat damped by the circumstances; in consequence there were several defaults when the tournament was continued during the afternoon. The conditions were such as to fa\ T or the more experienced and skilful bowling men, and there were some unexpected results in certain of the games.
