TREASURE CLOSELY GUARDED CHICAGO, March 18. Cash and securities valued at £500,000,000 were moved across La Salle street yesterday, from the Continental Bank to tho premises of the Illinois Merchants' Trust Co. The two concerns have amalgamated. Twelve steel forts, six armored cars, a machine-gun car, 20 mounted policemen, and 200 police afoot, lent color to the scene, and patrolmen closed off the nearby streets, to make impossible attacks from gangland.
