MYSTERIOUS EXPLOSION
HOUSE SET ON FIRE GAS METER TAMPERED WITH (Received March 30, 11 a.m.) MELBOURNE, March 30. Several buildings were rocked by an explosion which severely damaged a house at Prahran which had been untenanted for a week. Jt is believed that the explosion was caused by' a mixture ot' petrol and gas fumes, following a fire which was thought to have been deliberately started. Two men were seen leaving the premises immediately before explosion" occurred. The house was fully insured. The gas meter had been tampered with to allow a free flow of gas.
