NEW NAVAL VESSELS
DISTRIBUTION OP CONTRACTS (Australian and N.Z. Press Association.) LONDON, Feb. 10. The Daily Telegraph's naval correspondent understands that contracts are to be given to private shipyards and will represent at least £6,000,000. Three Tvneside firms will each receive a contract for two destroyers. John Brown, of Clvdebank, will build the remaining two. * The Admiralty is also placing an order for 'one flotilla leader, five submarines, one river gunboat, and two sloops, thus providing welcome.work. The battleship Revenge has joined the Mediterranean battle fleet, which will, when the Wavsprite. and the Malaya have rejoined it alter refitting, complete the stuoendous strength outlined in Mr. W. C. Bridgeman's. reconstruction scheme, announced in 1927. increasing the Mediterranean Fleet to 10 capital ships, consisting of five each of the Queen Elizabeth and the. Royal Sovereign classes _________
