DELEGATES IN CONFERENCE (Per Press Association,) WELLINGTON, tin's day. A conference of delegates of swimming centres met to-day. A Canterbury remit urging the Government to increase tho grant to the New Zealand Amateur Swimming Association to £IOOO was passed. A remit was also passed that swimming should be made compulsory in schools where facilities were available, with ;i recommendation iv the Minister that swimming should be placed on the syllabus of teachers' examinations. Another remit carried -was to appoint iu an honorary capacity in each centra swimmers to coach teachers, and instructors in correct methods of leaching swimming. Next year's championships -were allotted to Westland. Following discussion of a ITawkc's Bay remit that the, Is registration fee should not be used to send swimmers to tho Olympic Games was withdrawn.
