POWER HOUSE DISPUTE SYDNEY, Jan. 31. The Port Kembla power house dispute has been referred to the arbitrator, Air. Read, chairman of the Electrical Trades Conciliation Committee. Ihe south coast towns, therefore, will be lighted until his decision is announced. Tho prank of an apprentice at Port Kembla power house, threatened a serious industrial upheaval. As a direct consequence light and power were to have been cut off throughout a large section of the south coast, and about 1000 workmen thrown out of employment. An assurance was given by the Minister of Works, Air. Buttenshaw, that if the employees carried out their threat to strike! following the dismissal of the apprentice, the Government was in posi* tion to maintain light, and powei seivices in the affected area.
